Cameron River Project

The Cameron River Project tenements lie within the Eastern Fold Belt of the Mount Isa Inlier with the northern most tenement close to the boundary with the Central Kalkadoon – Leichardt Belt.

The tenements are prospective for copper, gold and rare earths. Copper deposits within the Eastern Succession comprise of variable styles of mineralization including Skarns and Iron Oxide Copper Gold (IOCG) deposits.

Known deposits in the region include Ernest Henry (Cu-Au), Rocklands (Cu), Mt Elliot (Cu-Au) and Osborne (Cu-Au). More recently this area has become a focus for Rare Earths and data is being collated as part of the Queensland Governments drive for New Economy Minerals.

Austral have generated several targets in the Cameron River tenements for further exploration work.
